Hull
The Fantasi 37 is made of glass fiber reinforced polyester (GRP). The hull is built as a solid single layer construction, 10 - 30 mm thick, with vertical stringers for additional strength. The deck and cabin is a sandwich laminate with a 20 mm divinycell core. Deck and cockpit is covered by 45 x 12 mm teak. The deck is laminated to the hull making a completely water tight and very strong construction. The keel is almost full length with internal lead ballast. The rudder is hinged to the aft end of the keel. A three blade propeller on a straight shaft is located in a protective recess between the keel and rudder. Tanks are located in the bilge. The water tank is made of GRP and is integrated with the hull and located on top of the ballast keel. The fuel tank is made of stainless steel and is located under the engine compartment. The design from 1976 by Knut Jacobsson is very solid and significant for its time. It carries many of the typical trade marks of other well known yachts designers such as Sparkman & Stephens etc. and has proven itself as an outstanding blue water cruisers.

Interior
The interior woodwork is made of teak and there are no visible GRP surfaces inside. The general layout is typical with a main saloon including a U-shaped sofa on the SB side and an longside sofa on the PS which together can be converted into comfortable 2 + 1 bunks. Between the sofas is a dining table that can be folded to a number of various shapes and sizes. The fore peak contains a V-shaped double bunk and loads of space for stowing. Between the saloon and fore peak is a "hallway" with closets and drawers on the SB side and the bathroom with head and shower on the PS. There is a U-shaped galley in the aft end of the main saloon and on the opposite side there is a lager chart table and nav-station plus a a closet for foul weather gear etc. The aft cabin contains two separate bunks, one on each side and a locker in between. As all tanks are located in the keel / bilge compartment under the floor boards there is ample space for storage under all bunks as well as plenty of small lockers and shelves over the bunks alongside the hull.

Rig and deck gear
The rig is a traditional mast-headed sloop with a single spreader aluminium mast and double lower shrouds. All stays and shrouds are made of 8 mm stainless steel wire and connected to 1/2" stainless steel turnbuckles. A removable inner fore stay / cutter stay was added in 2016. All chain plates are molded in to the hull. Mounted on the mast are two Lewmar wire winches for the main and head sail halyards. In addition there are two self tailing Lewmar 34 winches for the cutter sail and spinnaker halyards. The mast is provided with steps for easy climbing. The cockpit is provided with large self tailing winches for the head sail sheets and smaller self tailing winches for spinnaker sheets etc. Steering is by a wheel with a chain / wire system connected to a 40 mm solid stainless steel rudder shaft. On the fore-deck is a Lewmar electric windlass. The large chain locker also provides space for up to three 6 kg propane gas tanks, mooring lines and fenders etc.
